About Auto Insurance

Our office takes care of all the paperwork, so you can focus on getting better. We bill your auto insurance claim directly. You have no out-of-pocket expenses for office visits, acupuncture or massage.

In Oregon, insured drivers are required to carry a Personal Injury Protection (PIP) policy that covers a minimum of $15,000 for your medical treatments related to an auto accident. You have two years following your accident date to seek whatever medical care you choose.

Your auto insurance pays for medical treatments up to the amount of your ‘PIP’ — Personal Injury Protection — on your policy. In most cases, as long as your PIP is in effect, you have no expenses, except for natural remedies for pain and inflammation that may be prescribed.

Tip: Hospital stays and emergency procedures can quickly take up much of your auto insurance PIP. We advise that you carry as much coverage on your PIP as possible, should you ever need medical treatments and care after an auto accident.

What To Do After a Car Accident

Immediately after a car accident, no matter how major or minor, your #1 priority becomes to take care of yourself and your health. Even the slightest impact can cause a prolonged personal injury to muscles, ligaments, tendons and joints. How you take care of yourself the first few days following a car wreck can impact your recovery time.

Tips for Self-Care After an Auto Accident:

Get lots of extra rest!

Drink more water, eat nutritional foods and take vitamin supplements
Don’t return to work right away, if possible
Don’t exercise, do yoga, lift weight or work-out, except for easy walking
Start getting therapies that can support your overall health and treat your specific injuries

Get the Treatment You Need

Whiplash, headaches, neck pain, back pain, numbness and tingling, muscle spasms with stiffness, bruising and swelling are common physical complaints after an auto accident. Even if you think no personal injury has occurred, you may not feel like your usual, normal self for some time after being involved in a car crash. For instance, you may have trouble sleeping, feel foggy, irritable, stressed and anxious, have fatigue, be unable to concentrate, or experience memory loss.

Pay attention to whatever symptoms arise and take action to get treated! Don’t downplay your condition and proceed as usual with your normal pace and activities. Ignoring the impact of the accident on your body and mind can delay your recovery process in the long-run.
